Stara Fužina and Bohinj from our house
Stara Fužina is an Alpine village of old farmhouses in the Triglav National Park, just above the eastern end of Lake Bohinj. From our house you walk to the lake, the Mostnica gorge and the mountain trails.

The Zois manor and the village
Stara Fužina has the Zois manor, the Alpine Dairy Museum in the old cheese dairy, the Andrejčeva sawmill and mill, the Nutnica pri Joštu and St Paul’s church.

Lake Bohinj
The path across the fields takes 15 to 20 minutes. In summer you can swim, kayak or fish.

Summer
Swimming and kayaking on the lake, hikes to the mountain pastures and into the Triglav range, cycling in the valley. Then a barbecue in the garden.
Winter
Skiing at Vogel, Soriška planina and Pokljuka, cross-country skiing 250 m from the house. In the evening, the sauna in Room 1, 4 or 6.
Spring and autumn
The Mostnica gorge, the Savica waterfall and walks around the lake when the valley is quieter.

You park in front of the house
By car
Leave the A2 motorway at the Lesce exit and drive past Bled and Bohinjska Bistrica to Stara Fužina. It is 31 km from the exit, about 35 minutes. From Ljubljana it takes just over an hour.
By train
The nearest station is Bohinjska Bistrica, 8.5 km away. We can pick you up from there for a fee if you arrange it with us, or you can take the bus.
By bus
The stop is 250 m from the house. Buses don’t run often, so check the timetable before you travel.
By plane
Ljubljana airport is 56 km away and Klagenfurt airport in Austria 90 km. We can arrange an airport transfer for a fee.
